Let There Be Peace
This post is very special to me because of finding and maintaining balance throughout the day. Let There Be Peace is a frame of mind. One who suffers from an autoimmune disorder struggles with daily mood swings. I want to enjoy life. Staying in a routine makes me feel sometimes that my days are flying by too quickly. I realize in this beautiful sunset photo, my daughter captures at a special moment in her life, we all can create special memories in our own time if the focus remains on finding peace. Planning a morning, afternoon, and evening strategy opens the mind to new channels of comforting adventure. I can’t have it any other way because that feeling of peace at night when I lay in bed helps me to realize my day really was a good one!
Mixing Up Your Routine
I usually become awake at about six o’clock in the morning. It’s like clockwork for me. Trying to sleep in only makes me feel terrible with flu-like symptoms. No alarm clock is necessary, I simply become awake around this time frame. The first step is taking my medications, turning on my coffee pot, and feeding my cat Sydney. I begin my daily cleaning routine, clearing out emails, and trying to get ready. Hopefully before the phone starts ringing. The funny part about this is it’s now around eleven o’clock in the morning. I’m feeling lethargic. Rest is important because a major trigger for me is body tremors. Keeping in the back of my mind that beautiful sunset photo, I decided to mix the morning routine up. There are different challenges every day. This is easier said than done. I can say this at night when planning for the next day. However, when morning comes it takes discipline to make things happen!
Let There Be Peace
Depending on the weather, I can take that coffee with me and enjoy a fifteen-minute walk. I also enjoy taking my own pictures. To my surprise, there are so many amazing opportunities in the morning to capture on film. The cell phone can come in handy even for a non-tech-savvy person like me. I can push some of the mountainous stuff to a different time. My focus is on creating memories that I can share with family, friends, and my blogging family. Walking is something I can do at my pace. It also helps me to feel more energized in the morning. If the weather is not on my side, then I enjoy tuning into an educational program. I enjoy cooking or the news, and working out in the comfort of my living room. Try and make each day a new learning experience. When your body needs rest, don’t fight it off. Take that well-deserved break, and Let There Be Peace moving forward at your pace.
A Peaceful Frame Of Mind
The evenings are a different story for me. I usually go to bed around eight or nine o’clock. If I do not stay in a routine for sleeping, I toss and turn. The morning brings flu-like symptoms. Every once in a while, I will visit family or friends and end up coming home later than usual but I treat such plans as vacation time. Sounds ridiculous but if you suffer from an autoimmune disorder, rest is so important. Creating a peaceful frame of mind is positive therapy when trying to maneuver from day-to-day. Allowing for some adventure provides the mind and body some peace and tranquility. As someone who suffers from Graves Disease, this empowers me to reach outside the box, and strive for my best. As we all transition toward remission, Let There Be Peace!
