Leaky gut syndrome? I never heard of such a thing! Auto-immune disorders may cause inflammation in the stomach because of bacterial composition. An auto-immune disease, like Graves’, can attack and damage healthy tissue. My doctor often tells me, my body is fighting off the good stuff too! I have to be honest, this is scary stuff!
The auto-immune protocol, or AIP diet, targets the reduction of inflammation. Are we aiming to say bye-bye leaky gut syndrome, or are we stuck in this rut for the long hall? The AIP diet involves eliminating certain types of foods for a period of time. Learning what to eat, and what to avoid is half the battle.
The AIP diet may become the balance we need to control other symptoms of auto-immune disorders. Some examples include fatigue, muscle weakness, upset stomach, and overall health. I am not a doctor but eating healthy helps me to sleep at night. Sleep is crucial in living a healthy lifestyle.
Eating foods rich in vitamins, and avoiding added sugar or other additives is a must to follow the AIP diet. If we can adhere to the auto-immune protocol, in time reintroducing foods will help to weed out what is causing leaky gut syndrome! Chrohn’s disease is another example of learning what works and what doesn’t.
Always check with your doctor before making the final decision because everyone’s circumstances may be different. When I look at what I can and cannot eat, I feel the Pickens are slim! To my surprise, many recipes are out there making cooking more enjoyable! Read as much information as possible

If I get sick, my family doctor is always skeptical to prescribe antibiotics. Sinus infections are a part of the norm for me when seasons change. My sinus septum has deviated, and I suffer from chronic sinusitis. The doctor says, “There is a crisis in the area. Patients are taking way too many antibiotics, and their immune systems are becoming immune to the medication”.
If we think about all that is put into our stomachs, no wonder tummy issues are a problem. Currently, I am on five different prescriptions and four supplements. My stomach feels gassy all the time with often trips to the restroom, so time to take care of the leaky gut syndrome!
