My journey with Graves Disease challenges my life everyday in some way or another. It is unknown how long this autoimmune monster is traveling in time manipulating my health but in 2015 everything comes to a head. Believe me when I say, I am in a state of shock over what all is involved with Graves’. I look back over the years and realize some odd symptoms possibly should be a sign that something is wrong, but I did not get regular yearly blood work until my late thirty’s. Even then, thyroid levels are normal. I have thin hair, and even at a young age, sleep patterns are not normal. Below is a chart describing areas of the body that Graves Disease will affect.
Until recently, fear consumes me with daily activities, and dealing with friends and family. My journey with Graves Disease is now something I hope will bring me closer to others suffering from any autoimmune disorder. Realizing the signs, getting help, and educating yourself is a step in the right direction to maintaining a healthier lifestyle. At some point or another, I have the nasty experience of dealing with each symptom on the chart below. As we move through the current and upcoming posts, I look forward to developing new relationships because I believe one individual can change the life of another in so many positive ways.
I find it amazing on my journey with Graves Disease, how many people are fighting this battle or know someone else who struggles with an autoimmune disorder. I hope this blog brings awareness to negative signs and symptoms that mean something is wrong with your body, and you should seek medical help. Fear is something of the past because your future is just beginning! Thank you for your support!
