Is This A Bad Dream
As I mentioned in my post, “LIFE BEYOND THE GRAVE,” hair loss is the first sign that something is wrong with me. There are many bad dreams throughout the years of hair loss because I am someone with fine hair, to begin with. Is This A Bad Dream that now I can visually see the scalp, or is it my imagination? I realize medical attention is necessary before I am completely bald! A doctor visit is a next step for determining a solution to a devastating problem.
Is This Bad Dream Growing Hair
My family physician put me on a medication to take away some of the male hormones in my body. Apparently estrogen grows hair, and there is a chance that I do not have enough estrogen. Since I am a post-menopausal patient, and still have my uterus, she is not able to give me estrogen. I also have fibroid tumors in my uterus, and from what I understand, you only give estrogen after a hysterectomy. This is way over my mentality because if your body needs something, I would think you need to supplement it with something else. RIGHT?! I can’t remember what the medication is for reducing the male hormone, but I didn’t take it for very long. I wanted to see results as quickly as possible, and there are no signs of improvement.
Hair Supplements
My hairstylist mentions Nioxin shampoo, conditioner, and treatment for hair loss. Nioxin products are somewhat expensive in my opinion. However, I want to use a product that will help me to grow more hair, but if I choose to stop using it for a while, I will not lose the new hair growth. Nioxin will do just that! Rogain products are tricky because if you stop using them, new hair growth will fall out. I am back to Is This A Bad Dream. To me, that is defeating the purpose of trying to grow hair. I also faithfully take 5000 mg of biotin every day for hair, skin, and nails. For about eight dollars at Walmart, I am good for a month. Biotin helps tremendously, and I can see areas where the hair is beginning to grow back. Make sure you stop taking the hair supplement about one week before blood-work for thyroid levels, because of possible false-positive reading.
Best Results For Hair Loss
There are other products out in the market. Keranique is another line I like. However, I didn’t really see new hair growth on my scalp. My hair grew but there are no signs of new growth in the front area of my forehead. I also saw a dermatologist who prescribes a formula, where I can put drops into my scalp. She instructs me to only wash my hair once a week, use no hair products, and insert the drops twice a day. This is totally not me because I need to style my hair to hide the bald areas. My mind is freaking out now! I decide to stick with Nioxin hair products and biotin for a hair supplement. It is alright to switch off once in a while to save on the pocketbook, but my best results are with these products. Philosophy products are wonderful for the hair. An all in one product you can use from head to toe. I am unsure of most hair products because of weighing hair down but Philosophy creates healthy hair, and I can use it for bathing and shaving also.
Building Confidence
The process is timely. Results do not occur overnight. Hair growth transpires throughout a cycle. We go through a shedding period and a growing period. I really am hoping for feedback in this area because hair loss causes so much insecurity for women. No one wants to wake up wondering Is This A Bad Dream! A product that I want to share with everyone for cosmetic purposes is Tru Hair. You may purchase this item on HSN. You simply match the product with your hair color and brush it right into your scalp. Attached are fibers within the color, in a bottle with a Kabuki brush on the end. You can swipe it into your hair just like you are brushing blush on your cheeks. I just love this product. I find no mess. It will stay put until I wash my hair again. Building confidence is important as we continue the journey in fighting all autoimmune disorders!
