Herbs, Herbs, And More Herbs
Many of us, at one point or another in our lives, think about taking a healthy approach to what we put in our bodies. Reasons might pertain to your health, weight, or simply wanting to stay abreast with current health alerts. Herbs, Herbs, And More Herbs provide some basic information I find interesting through personal research, involving the natural side to protecting the immune system. While there are many ingredients in the form of supplements, liquid extract, or real grown herbs, you should always consult with your family doctor or specialist before taking matters into your own hands. I have a list of eight herbs to share in HERBS, HERBS, And More HERBS. Depending on your personal circumstances, they might be helpful if looking for a holistic approach.
Herbs, Herbs, And More Herbs In Chinese Medicine
The first herb I find interesting is Schizandra, a Chinese fruit. The fruit is a small red berry that grows on a creeping vine. Schizandra is known to ancient Chinese medicine for multiple purposes in performance for anti-inflammatory treatment. The herb helps to boost moods and enhance one’s mental state. In Chinese medicine, asthma, fatigue, dry cough, and diarrhea are among some of the ailments the herb is a benefit to in the healing process.
Repairing The Stomach Lining
Licorice Extract helps to soothe gastrointestinal problems. Common issues include heartburn, stomach ulcers, and food poisoning. The extract will help to repair the stomach lining, and restore balance. The process makes sense to me because I have many problems with medications upsetting my stomach. I take methimazole for my thyroid, and this causes a lot of diarrhea in the morning. This is pretty scary stuff when visualizing what an autoimmune disorder will do to our insides!
Boosting The Immune System
Astragalus Root is another traditional Chinese medicine helpful in boosting the immune system. The root comes from a type of bean or legume. People who suffer from heart disease can benefit from Astragalus Root because of lowering blood pressure. Chinese medicine helps treat the common cold, and fibromyalgia. Also, someone who is diabetic, the herb is useful for lowering blood sugar. As a Graves Disease patient, I suffer from joint pain, muscle pain, and fatigue. I am still in the research phase, but feeling curious about incorporating more herbs into my diet.
Influencing Hormones
In alternative medicine, Yam Root Extract can influence hormones in the human body. The bulb and roots of a yam contain the chemical diosgenin. People needing estrogen therapy, people with osteoporosis, and people with menstrual cramping can benefit because of anti-inflammatory properties. I have fibroid tumors, a hormone-sensitive condition. The use of Yam Root Extract can affect my estrogen levels. Depending on each person’s issue, you should always ask your physician before putting anything into your body because of interference with medications.
Reducing Inflammation
Solomon’s Seal is a herb made into medicine. Solomon’s Seal Extract reduces swelling and inflammation. You can apply this directly to the skin for bruises, boils, hemorrhoids, and skin rashes. Solomon’s Seal is also a treatment for lung disorders. Another traditional Chinese medicine from the ancient seal of King Solomon is this starchy root that has been around for hundreds of years. From what I have read, there are no known precautions but still discuss with your physician.
Improving Blood Glucose
The Mulberry Leaf is a herb that catches my eye! The leaf has a sugar blocker, and aids in treating diabetics. People who are overweight can benefit from the Mulberry Leaf because compounds improve blood glucose control. The leaves are a powdery texture, and the fruit can serve a purpose in cooking. I have an upcoming Endocrinologist appointment, and I hope to merge this herb into my diet. I am beginning to gain weight, and with Graves Disease you are always hungry, so the struggle with dieting is a concern.
Improving Vision
Lycium is another Chinese fruit. In the form of an extract, the herb performs as an eye tonic for blurry vision. I also have Graves of the eyes. My left eye appears larger than the right one. I suffer from dizziness and blurry vision. Simply amazing how natural greens and berries we grow have many purposes for our health. The berries are raw, and appealing in cooking healthy dishes. Many autoimmune disorders affect eyesight. If you feel a natural approach is best, then research your issues, and discuss all options with your doctor.
Fighting Fatigue
Ballom Flower Extract, comes from a plant, with star-shaped blue-violet flowers. Preparations for the herb are useful fresh or dried when incorporating into your diet. Another anti-inflammatory in Chinese traditional medicine, colds, fatigue, and toothaches are among some aliments the extract helps to restore one back to health. Fatigue is a killer for so many of us when our bodies suffer from even the common cold.
Consult With Your Physician
All of the herbs I mention here are found on the internet. Amazon is a great place to order items at a reasonable price. I must stress again, please take the time to write down your symptoms, and discuss with your physician before taking any supplements or drops! Who knows, you might be able to set some goals and decrease medications. I find side effects to medications such an interruption when enjoying life. Let’s keep the circle going here with feedback! I can feel the energy now!
